DATE & TIME:
Saturday, September 26, 2015; 9:00 am-5:00 pm
Facebook
LOCATION:
LaPete Labs, 369 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210
COST:
$73 ($70 + Paypal fee) covers 4 to 8 hours at the lab. All chemistry, paper, and materials (except your exposed film), as well as instruction and advice, are included in the fee.
WHAT’S HAPPENING:
Whether you want to learn how to develop and print your own B&W film, or are in need of a refresher on processing and/printing, this is the event for you.
We’ll start with developing our b&w film, then move on to the enlargers to make contact sheets and, time permitting, individual prints. Lab owner and expert printer Bill LaPete will offer instruction, guidance, and advice all along the way. This is a great opportunity to finally try your hand at processing and printing your own toy camera (or “real” camera) photos!
The event is scheduled for 4 hours (9am to 1pm), but your registration fee entitles you to stay twice that long if you’d like — Bill LaPete will be onsite until 5pm and is happy to offer technical assistance to those who choose to stay beyond 1pm.
WHAT TO BRING:
What to bring: 1 roll of exposed black & white film — Tri-X 400 or Ilford HP5 (35mm or 120mm).
What to wear: You will be working with chemicals and doing some things in near-total darkness, so wear clothes that can get stained (they probably won’t, but better safe than sorry).
