The Nave Gallery is pleased to announce a call for entries for, “Salon 21,” a 21st Century Artists Salon open to artists in all media. The exhibition will be open during Somerville Open Studios (SOS), one of Massachusetts’ largest open studio events. The show will be promoted as an affordable and great way to add to or start a personal art collection. All themes will be considered. You do not need to be a Somerville resident to apply.
GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY:
A maximum of 3 pieces may be entered for consideration.
Entries should be no larger than 21″ x 21″ (including frame).
Small 3D work to be displayed on pedestals may also be submitted.
Colored mats will not be accepted.
Work must be delivered framed or ready to install (if not the piece is not framed then method for installation needs to be discussed/approved with curator).
Accepted pieces should be delivered to the Nave Gallery located inside of the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church (155 Powder House Blvd, outside of Teele Sq.).
The curator reserves the right not to accept work if delivered unframed or not ready to install, or if the hanging method is deemed unsafe.
The artist is responsible for cost of shipping work to and from the gallery.
Artwork should be priced $500.00 and under.
The Nave Gallery will retain a 30% commission for work sold.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
Please send 3 jpeg images to mfiorenza29@gmail.com.
Each jpeg should be 1200 pixels in the long dimension. Name the jpeg files “#_NAME.jpg” where # is the submission number and NAME is your last name.
Include an image list with your jpeg submission email indicating submission number, title, size, process, and year.
There is a $15 submission fee, paid with Paypal or with check. Paypal is available here. Please indicate in the memo line that this is for “Salon 21.” Checks should be sent to The Nave Gallery, Attn: Michelle Fiorenza (Salon 21), 155 Powder House Boulevard, Somerville, MA 02144.
