The Nave Gallery Annex in Davis Square seeks art representing man in his many guises from the real to the artificial. “Phantomaton,” a play off of “phantom” and “automaton,” is being organized by painter Joe Keinberger and sculptor Skunk and will include works of both artists in the exhibition. The two are inviting other artists whose influences may range from alchemy to biotechnology and whatever lies in between to be part of this temporary world exploring man and creation. If your work includes thoughts of homunculi, ghosts, specters, robots, gears and/or an unnatural obsession with Frankenstein, this may be the show for you!
Entries are being accepted in all media including installation and video.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
Please send up to three artwork submissions as .jpg files to info[at]navegallery[dot]org.
Each .jpg should be 1200 pixels in the long dimension and named as “#_NAME.jpg” where # is the submission number and NAME is your last name.
Please include an image list with your jpeg submission email, indicating submission number, title, size, process, and year; as well as a brief artist bio and statement.
There is a $15 submission fee, payable through Paypal or with check. Paypal is available here. Please include “Phantomaton” in the memo. Checks should be sent to: 53 Chester St, Somerville, MA 02144. You do not need to be a Somerville resident to apply.
Accepted pieces should be delivered to the Nave Gallery Annex located in Davis Square (53 Chester St, Somerville, MA) ready to install.
