DETAILS:
The Nave Gallery invites photographers to submit images of winter lights. Entries do not need to be based in Somerville, MA to be considered.

Each year, the cold and dark of the winter season is brightened by lights of celebration. From quiet displays commemorating religious celebrations to grand designs that flood the senses, these lights invite us to contemplate and be cheered as we make our way through short days and long months.

This exhibition will be juried by the staff of the Somerville Arts Council, who are holiday light experts in their own right. Each year, the Somerville Arts Council runs a trolley tour throughout the city to spotlight some of the city’s unique holiday lights displays. Somerville’s infamous city lights kick off the area’s holiday season.

GUIDELINES:

– $15 entry fee payable through PayPal

– A maximum of 3 pieces may be entered for consideration

– Submissions will be accepted through October 1, 2014

– The Nave Gallery will retain a 30% commission for work sold

– Artist is responsible for cost of shipping work to and from the gallery

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
-Send up to three artwork submissions as .jpg files to info[at]navegallery[dot]org

-Each .jpg should be 1200 pixels in the long dimension and named as “#_NAME.jpg” where # is the submission number and NAME is your last name

-Include an image list with your jpeg submission email, indicating submission number, title, size, process and year, as well as a brief artist bio and statement

-There is a $15 submission fee, payable through Paypal. Paypal is available here. Please include “Illuminated” in the memo

Accepted pieces should be delivered to the Nave Gallery located in Teele Square (155 Powder House Blvd, Somerville, MA) ready to install.
