ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Flutist Ellen Rakatansky holds a B.A. in Music and Computer Science from Tufts University and a M.M. in Flute Performance from Boston Conservatory. She has performed with area ensembles including Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Albany Symphony, and ALEA III. Ellen lives in Cambridge and utilizes her technical skills at PG Calc, designing software to help charities raise money through planned giving.
Alison LaRosa Montez, flute, received a B.M. from Catholic University of America, where she studied with Vanita Jones and Tom Perazzoli. By day she fundraises for Tufts University School of Medicine, and by night she is an avid choral singer, performing regularly with The Seraphim Singers choir. As much an early- as contemporary music enthusiast, Alison also plays traverso.
Elizabeth England, oboe, holds a B.M. from New England Conservatory. She maintains a busy performance schedule in New England. Off stage, Ms. England can be found teaching lessons to young oboists in the Boston area. Recent accolades include the 2013 St. Botolph Club Foundation “Emerging Artist Award.” In her spare time, she enjoys her neighborhood of J.P. and exploring new cupcake shops.
The ensemble met through the Beantown Chamber Music Reading Meetup. Visit our Meetup page to join us for an upcoming classical music jam session
