Ted Ollier, long-time volunteer and organizer for The Nave
Brian Beaucher is a Somerville resident who studied at MICA, and his brother Steven is an architect who has also done some time in the “Ville. The brothers launched their antique map and cartographic gift business WardMaps in 2004. They founded Boston Coasters in 2008 as an outlet for the work of local and emerging artists. Both bring a keen interest in the history and representation of place through various historic and contemporary media with a focus on Somerville for this show.
Ted Ollier is a printmaker and conceptual artist who has lived in Somerville and Medford since moving from Austin Texas five years ago. He is a two-time recipient of the Somerville Arts Council grant, shows regularly in the Boston area, and has organized six shows for The Nave.
The Nave Gallery Annex in Davis Square seeks art inspired by or created from the people, events and geography taking place in the 4.2 sq miles that make up the City of Somerville, MA.
Entries are being accepted in all media including installation and video.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
Please send up to three artwork submissions as .jpg files to info[at]navegallery[dot]org.
Each .jpg should be 1200 pixels in the long dimension and named as “#_NAME.jpg” where # is the submission number and NAME is your last name. Resolution should be 300 dpi.
Please include an image list with your jpeg submission email, indicating submission number, title, size, process, and year; as well as a brief artist bio and statement.
There is a $15 submission fee, payable through Paypal or with check. Paypal is available here. Please include “Somerville” in the memo. Checks should be sent to: 53 Chester St, Somerville, MA 02144. You do not need to be a Somerville resident to apply.
Accepted pieces should be delivered to the Nave Gallery Annex located in Davis Square (53 Chester St, Somerville, MA) ready to install.
