The Telephone (A half-decade reprisal of the DMI Writing Assignment Digital Analogues, as taught by Joseph Quackenbush)
The telephone is perhaps one of the most successful and important inventions of our time. How it came about is quite a different story than what we’ve been taught in our history books. In this lecture we will explore who really invented the telephone and how a funeral director, an accordion, and a microwave are related in our quest for a more modern communication.

Adaptive interfaces for Learning – New Media solutions for education inspired by outliers, savants and evolution
In 2013, 1 in 50 children were diagnosed with Autism, some of them having extra-ordinary abilities. My design research addresses learning adapted from gifted learners. Would this hybrid, adaptive model stimulate regular learners to develop successful learning styles found in people on the Autism Spectrum? Would it improve learning?
