Image above: Label Designs from Cambridge Brewing Company
The recent explosion of craft breweries has led to an explosion of artistic beer labels. As breweries look to create a distinctive identity for themselves, brewers are getting creative with their label design, hiring local artists, crowdsourcing ideas, or even relying on their own freestyle doodling. The lack of corporate backing, for many, has spurred brewers to think about design based on flexibility and affordability. This nimbleness has resulted in a visual cacophony that sparks the interest as much as the brews do.
